Look who's in That's Life Magazine out today and on page 21, some of my story. For 20 years I didn't talk about my personal situation. There are many things I am still unable to talk about, I just can't physically speak about details that happened, the pain is overwhelming and terrifying to relive. A few years back I began to share a little more of my story. This year on the anniversary of our leaving the 1st February I shared some more and also some tips that helped me at the worst time of my life. That post was shared all over the world from India to the USA to England and everywhere in between. One of the first comments I read on a shared post with one of the large Facebook pages was a woman who wrote "I needed to read that today. I'm leaving." I cried. There were many more comments like that of women encouraged to escape from the abuse, feeling hopeful that they too could build a new life for themselves and their children. The response was overwhelming. I will continue to share my story in the hope that it may help one other or even save a life. If you are in the situation where you need help please talk to someone, take a step, more people care than you know. If you wish to help please support Friends With Dignity who set up homes for those escaping with children, from domestic violence situations. I wish their services had been around when I needed them. Thank you to the that's life! team who contacted us and worked with us on this to ensure our safety and dignity and to do their best to support others and help with this epidemic of domestic violence. Let's hope someones life is saved tonight. So far today police in Australia would have dealt with on average 560 domestic violence matters Thank you Kathryn Lewsey JournalistContinue Reading
